about dnr
Who Are we?
DNR is comprised of like minded individuals seeking to build true mutual aid in the contemporary DIY scene. Made up of autonomous volunteers from many different backgrounds and beliefs, we come together on the core belief that creating art and being heard shouldn’t be a luxury.
How Does It work?
Just reach out. Use our contact form or shoot us a DM on instagram. Let us know your project, and what skills you are needing. We ask our volunteers who would like to work on the project, and we go from there. Everything is pay-what-you-can to cover material costs. If you want to get involved, or volunteer your services shoot us a message.
Our Principles
Our Principles
Statement of organization: DNR as a label and collective is entirely comprised of collaborations between its members.
We believe we can not build sustainable mutual aid without the backing of principles. Below you will find the 6 core principles of DNR as they stand.
-
Final responsibility and ultimate authority for DNR should always reside in the collective conscience of the whole collective.
-
Membership is entirely voluntary. DNR will never charges dues or fees for membership.
-
Each artist should be entirely autonomous except in matters affecting the entire collective.
-
DNR is self-supporting. The collective funds itself through mutual aid, shows, sales, and community support. DNR as a label and collective is entirely comprised of collaborations between its members. Donations go directly back to material costs for artists in need.
-
DNR remains non-professional in its essence, though many members may be professionals in their fields.
-
Services provided by DNR are charged solely on the basis of labor and materials. DNR is built on what artists and members freely contribute. Thus, DNR ought never charge fees for “overhead” expenses or take any percentage of the fruits of an artist’s labor. Any and all “profits” belong to the artists.
